Staying on Omaha Beach

As soon as possible, during the DDAY began the work on the beach. Primary was to clear mines, construction of access roads and destruction of pillboxes.

Men of 348th stayed on the beach to disembark supplies and created dumps for food, ammunition, gas, etc…

With a big quantity of heavy equipment they were able to furnish equipment to the 1st Infantry Division to fight German army around Omaha.

Create contact with the population was difficult because of the language and because they were not allowed to go up of the cliffs to get villages.
